On behalf of the Singapore Society of Radiographers, I will like to wish all of you a Happy World Radiography Day 2011. World Radiography Day celebration is an initiative of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) and its member country societies to highlight the important role of the Radiographers and Radiation Technologists play in the provision of the medical usage of radiation in healthcare. Every year, Radiographers and Radiation Technologists all over the world will celebrate the discovery of X-rays on November 8, 2011 with events and activities to promote the radiography profession.
This year, Radiographers and Radiation Therapists in various hospitals in Singapore are organizing activities and forum to celebrate this important day. Below are some of the activities
Tan Tock Seng Hospital- “Radiographers, Touching Lives by Seeing the Unseen in You” 4th November 2011 TTSH Atrium Level 1
National University Hospital of Singapore will be organizing a public forum on “Surfing the X-wave” on 19th November, NUH Tower Block Auditorium

Welcome Address for 26th Singapore-Malaysia Radiographers Conference

On behalf of the organizing committee, I am pleased to invite you to participate in the 26th Singapore Malaysia Radiographers Conference, to be held at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), Singapore from 3rd to 4th September 2011. KTPH is the newest public hospital in Singapore which offers a comprehensive range of medical services, as well as a full suite of medical specialties. This is the first time that we will be hosting our conference in a hospital facility and we look forward to welcoming all of you to this meeting. Other than attending the meeting, a tour of the new hospital facilities has been arranged.
Our theme for this year’s conference is “Professional Development in the New Decade”. As our profession continue to grow, it is important for us to reflect on our achievements in the past year and to upgrade one in keeping up with the evolving technology. The aim of the program this year is to provide a conference that truly represents all facets of our profession and demonstrating how we could through continuous professional development continue to advance on our practice and encourage research in our daily work. We will also be having a Student Session to encourage and provide opportunities for the students to showcase their projects.
The gala dinner will be held at the Megu Event Hall located on the 2nd level of the Retail Terminal at the Singapore Flyer where participants can get to enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire Marina Bay from the restaurant.

26th Singapore - Malaysia Radiographers Conference Call for Papers

This year, on the 3rd and 4th of September, the Singapore - Malaysia Radiographers Conference will be held at the brand new state-of-the-art and award winning Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore. The Singapore Society of Radiographers and the Malaysian Society of Radiographers would like to officially call for abstracts from diagnostic radiographers, radiation therapists and various related professionals from not just Singapore and Malaysia but also from the greater community internationally.
