Society membership is open to all radiographers and radiation therapists, as well as members of allied professions who are interested in the advancement of medical radiography. There are several levels of membership with different eligibility criteria as listed below.

Membership Levels





Ordinary privileges,
Voting rights and right to hold office

Applicants must possess recognised qualifications in Diagnostic Radiographer and Radiation therapy

Open to all Singaporean radiographers

Permanent Residents who have been associate members for 5 years may apply to be an ordinary member of SSR


Ordinary privileges

Applicants must possess recognised qualifications in Diagnostic Radiographer and Radiation therapy

Open to radiographers who are permanent residents of Singapore or are of other nationalities

Members of allied professions who are interested in the advancement of Medical Radiography (Diagnostic and Radiotherapy) and other allied subjects

Subsidised membership rates

Open to student radiographers of recognised Radiography training institutions 

Proof of student status must be provided

By invitation only

Life membership may be conferred on any member on reaching the age of 55 years and having been an ordinary member of good standing in the society for a period of 15 years or more continuously

Honorary Members are conferred on persons who have rendered meritorious service to the Radiographic profession or to this Society

The Singapore Society of Radiographers is neutral point of reference for the ministries, government agencies, health care institutions, schools and the public. We serve as a non-biased voice for practicing diagnostic radiographers and radiation therapists, giving expert opinion and advice. We communicate with both local and international counterparts for the best interest of the society and the greater public.

While we are not an industrial union, we do represent the interest of all our members who practice as diagnostic radiographers and radiation therapists. We uphold the professionalism, standard of practice and the domains of expert knowledge. When we speak, we speak we speak for you, as a whole organization in one collective voice.

Continuous professional development an essential activity undertaken by professionals to ensure that knowledge is kept up to date with technological improvements in our respective professional fields.

Discounted Conferences and Symposiums

The Singapore Society of Radiographers organises the conferences and symposiums that provide a good platform for exchange of experiences and ideas. Members are entitled to special rates for these conferences.

Networking platform

The Singapore Society of Radiographers organises regular social and educational events where diagnostic radiographers and radiation therapists can mingle and create networking opportunities. 

Membership Terms & Conditions

Eligibility for Membership

    • Application for membership can be made at any time of the year.
    • Annual subscription fees are paid for one calendar year (365 days).
    • Admission to the Society is at the sole discretion of the Executive Council.
    • Membership of the Society is not transferable.

Entrance Fee and Annual Subscription Fee

Ordinary and Associate members

    • Entrance fee: $20
    • Annual Subscription: $50
Student membership
    • Entrance fee: waived
    • Annual subscription: $15

    Mode of Payment
      • Payment of membership fees can be made online via Paypal.
      • Cash and cheques are also accepted. 
      • Cheques should be crossed and made payable to "Singapore Society of Radiographers"

    Documents to Accompany Application
    1. One copy of each professional qualification
    2. A copy of proof of enrolment from the recognised Radiography training institutions (for student applicants).
    3. These documents must be sent electronically via email to exco@ssr.org.sg, Random audits will be carried out to verify the true copies of these documents.
    4. For conversion to Ordinary membership from Associate or Student membership: A letter issued by the Immigrations & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore confirming the Member’s citizenship status
