Overview
Two fellowship tracks
Experienced Leaders
SSR SH Lee Fellowship
For radiography professionals with a strong track record of leadership at institutional, national, or international level.
  • Award SGD $7,000–$10,000
  • Per cycle Up to 1 award
  • Experience Min. 7 years post-qual
Emerging Leaders
SSR Felicity Tann Emerging Leaders Fellowship
For early-career radiography professionals who show leadership potential and wish to grow through exposure and networking.
  • Award SGD $3,000–$5,000
  • Per cycle Up to 2 awards
  • Experience Max. 5 years post-qual

Application cycle

Applies to both fellowship programmes.

Applications Open
Submission portal opens. Start drafting your Statement of Purpose early.
30 Nov
Submission Deadline
All four required documents must be submitted. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Dec – Jan
Review & Selection
Fellowship Selection Panel convened by the SSR Council reviews all applications.
February
Notification of Results
Applicants are informed of the outcome.
Mar / Apr
Award Ceremony
Presented at the SSR Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM).
Common Requirements
What every application needs
Eligibility
  • Current SSR member in good standing
  • Commitment to advancing the medical radiation professions
  • A prepared proposal with expected outcomes
  • A plan for contributing back to SSR upon completion
Required Documents
  • Completed Application Form Official form for the respective fellowship
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) Comprehensive professional background
  • Statement of Purpose Max 1,000 words — objectives, outcomes, and contribution plan back to SSR
  • Letter of Support From your department manager or HR
Funding & Reimbursement
  • Funds held in SSR's dedicated YouBiz account
  • Applicants must bear upfront costs themselves
  • Reimbursement requires receipt, proof of payment, and credit card statements
  • Claims approved only after post-award obligations are fulfilled
  • All funds must be utilised within 24 months of award date
  • Unused funds must be returned to SSR
Change of Plans
  • Any significant changes to activity, dates, location, or budget must be communicated to SSR in advance
  • All changes are subject to SSR Council approval
  • Failure to notify may require repayment of disbursed funds

Submission: Submit to the email address listed on the SSR website at www.ssr.org.sg. The SSR Council reserves the right not to award the fellowship in any cycle if no suitable candidate is identified.

Clarity & Relevance
A well-defined activity that is clearly aligned with your professional goals and the objectives of the fellowship.

Leadership Evidence
Demonstrated leadership achievements (SH Lee) or clear leadership potential through concrete examples (Felicity Tann).

Professional Contribution
Evidence of commitment to SSR and the radiography profession beyond your immediate role.

Feasibility
A realistic execution plan and timeline, with a budget that is appropriately costed within the award quantum.

Knowledge Sharing
A clear plan for disseminating outcomes back to the SSR membership and the broader radiography community.
Fellowship-Specific Requirements
What each fellowship asks for
SH Lee Fellowship
Experienced Leaders
For professionals with a minimum of 7 years post-qualification practice, with leadership contributions at an institutional, national, or international level.
Proven leadership impact required
Your CV and Statement of Purpose must clearly evidence leadership contributions across clinical, administrative, educational, research, or informatics domains.
Focus on deepening leadership
The proposed activity should involve national or international exposure — conferences, training programmes, or international attachments.
Programme details required on form
Activity title, type, organising body, country/location, start and end dates, and duration.
3–5 clear objectives
Provide objectives, expected outcomes, and a contribution plan back to SSR.
Budget breakdown in SGD
Itemise by category: registration/course fees, airfare, accommodation, and ground transport.
Award quantum: SGD $7,000–$10,000
Felicity Tann Fellowship
Emerging Leaders
For professionals with a maximum of 5 years post-qualification practice, demonstrating leadership potential through initiatives, committees, projects, or research.
Evidence of Leadership Potential — additional form section
Briefly describe up to 3 examples of initiatives, committees, projects, or research that demonstrate your leadership potential.
Focus on professional exposure and networking
The proposed activity should go beyond attendance — it should actively build your professional networks and industry connections.
Networking Plan required
Explain specifically how you intend to build professional connections through the proposed activity.
Frame outcomes around your growth
Expected outcomes should be written around how the activity supports your professional development and leadership growth — not general outcomes.
Budget breakdown in SGD
Itemise by expense category.
Award quantum: SGD $3,000–$5,000
Post-Award Obligations
What recipients are required to fulfil
Timeframe Obligation
Within 24 months of award Utilise all fellowship funds for approved activities only
Within 2 months of completing activities Submit a comprehensive written report to SSR
As scheduled by SSR Present and share outcomes at an SSR platform (ASM, seminar, or newsletter)
Ongoing Acknowledge the fellowship by name in all related presentations, publications, and communications

Declaration: By submitting an application, you confirm that all information is true and accurate, you meet eligibility requirements, and you consent to SSR using your name and fellowship details for recognition and publication purposes. False or misleading information may result in disqualification or fund recovery.
