SSR Fellowship Programmes — Applicant Guide

SSR Professional Development Fund

Overview

SSR offers two biennial fellowship programmes recognising leadership and building capacity within the radiography profession in Singapore and the region. Awards fund leadership development and international exposure. See What the Funding Can Be Used For.

Experienced Leaders
SSR SH Lee Fellowship
For radiography professionals with a strong track record of leadership at institutional, national, or international level.

Emerging Leaders
SSR Felicity Tann Emerging Leaders Fellowship
For early-career radiography professionals who show leadership potential and wish to grow through exposure and networking.

  • ExperienceMax. 5 years post-qual
What the Funding Can Be Used For

Fellowship funds support two purposes. Your proposal and itemised budget should map clearly to at least one of them.

Development
Enhance leadership skills in administration, clinical practice, education, research, and informatics.

Exposure
Support international conferences and training opportunities.

Conditions: Funds may go to approved activities only, and must be spent within 24 months of the award. See Post-Award Obligations.

Applications Open
Submission portal opens.
30 Nov
Submission Deadline
All three required documents must be submitted. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Dec – Jan
Review & Selection
Fellowship Selection Panel reviews all applications. The decision of the Panel is final.
February
Notification of Results
Applicants are informed of the outcome.
Mar / Apr
Award Ceremony
Presented at the SSR Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM).
Requirements
Eligibility
  • SSR member in good standing for at least 1 year prior to application, and continuously until all Post-Award Obligations are fulfilled
  • Commitment to advancing the medical radiation professions
  • A prepared proposal with expected outcomes
  • A plan for contributing back to SSR upon completion
Required Documents: all 3 must be submitted

  3. Letter of SupportFrom your department manager or HR

Submission: Email all three documents to exco@ssr.org.sg by 30 November.

Selection Criteria

Clarity & Relevance
A well-defined activity aligned with your professional goals and the fellowship objectives.

Leadership Evidence
Proven track record of leadership (SH Lee) or concrete examples of leadership potential (Felicity Tann).

Professional Contribution
Commitment to SSR and the radiography profession beyond your immediate role.

Feasibility
A realistic plan, timeline, and budget within the award quantum.

Knowledge Sharing
A clear plan to share outcomes with SSR members and the wider radiography community.
Fellowship-Specific Requirements
SH Lee Fellowship Felicity Tann Fellowship
Leadership Proven track record at institutional, national, or international level, evidenced in CV and Statement of Purpose Demonstrated potential. Describe up to 3 examples of initiatives, committees, projects, or research. No formal title required.
Activity focus National or international exposure through conferences, training programmes, or attachments that deepen your leadership Professional exposure and network-building. You must actively build connections, not just attend.
Extra form sections Programme details; 3–5 objectives; expected outcomes; contribution plan back to SSR; itemised budget 3 examples of leadership potential; Networking Plan; expected outcomes framed around personal growth; itemised budget
Post-Award Obligations

These obligations are a condition of the award. Reimbursement is approved only after they are fulfilled.

Timeframe Obligation
Within 24 months of award Use all fellowship funds for approved activities only
Within 2 months of completing activities Submit a comprehensive written report to SSR
As scheduled by SSR Present and share outcomes at an SSR platform (ASM, seminar, or newsletter)
Ongoing Acknowledge the fellowship by name in all related presentations, publications, and communications

Declaration: By submitting, you confirm all information is accurate, you meet the eligibility requirements, and you consent to SSR using your name and fellowship details for recognition purposes.
